With the bases loaded, Mitchell and Rose each hit RBI ground outs for the first two runs of the inning. Both teams went quietly in the third inning before Newberry plated three runs in the top of the fourth. The Crusaders tied the game in the bottom of the second. The Wolves struck in the first inning of game two as Brogdon continued her good day at the plate by picking up a one-out RBI with two runners in scoring position. The Crusaders went down in order in the bottom of the sixth, enacting the run-rule and securing the lopsided win for the Wolves, 13-1. Rose once again hit an RBI single, scoring Mitchell, and then scored herself when junior third baseman Hailey Hill (Summerville) hit a home run for the seventh run of the inning. Wilson scored on the next at-bat as senior first baseman Lindsey Mitchell (Fairfield, Ohio) hit the Wolves’ second triple of the inning. With two runners on, Wilson singled up the middle to plate two more runs. Carr followed with a single to score Williams and kicked off the scoring for the inning. She threw four innings, gave up three hits and struck out a pair of batters in the win. Sophomore Lindsey Foster (Griffin, Ga.) picked up her fifth win of the season in the first game. The Wolves first took a six-inning, run-rule victory over NGU by a final score of 13-1, then needed nine innings to complete a 9-6 victory over the Crusaders.
